In 2014, SRMC opened our new $42.5 million patient private room tower, designed to provide a state-of-the-art healing environment. The 169,000 square foot tower features 87 private patient rooms on three floors:
Tower 1: 10 rooms for the Intensive Care Unit and 17 rooms for “step down” cardiac care (ICU includes Tele-ICU monitoring)
Tower 2: 30 rooms for surgical patients
Tower 3: 30 rooms for medical/surgical patients
Each private room features its own bathroom and shower, a high-definition flat screen television, wireless internet access and a sleeper sofa for those wishing to stay overnight. In addition, the rooms are “acuity adjustable,” which means that heart monitoring technology can be added or removed based on a patient’s changing condition.
Fifteen rooms are equipped with ceiling lifts, making it safer for caregivers to move bariatric patients from their beds.
