Nationally-recognized by the American Diabetes Association, these classes are for patients diagnosed with diabetes and their families. Led by a registered nurse and a registered and licensed dietitian, educational topics include:
As part of the Adult Diabetes Self-Management Program, individual diabetes or nutrition education counseling is available on an “as needed” basis.
A physician's referral is required to enroll in the program. The program’s cost may be covered by your insurance plan and/or Medicare. Please contact SRMC’s Diabetes Educator for additional information.
SRMC’s free Diabetes Support Group offers people with diabetes an opportunity to share their experiences, receive diabetes education and learn from guest speakers. The support group meets at Salem Regional Medical Center. A physician's referral is not required to participate.
